General News

StakeCube in Numbers

This week Bitcoin lost even more ground only finding some sort of bottom today at around $54,000. Some sources say that there was a huge volume of option expirations today and bears had to push the price down to avoid losses. Another likely reason was the general market crash caused by fear of the new Covid variant spreading outside South Africa. This crash has affected all sorts of assets, including stocks, currencies and precious metals. Hopefully markets will stop correcting soon, allowing prices to stabilize. However, even if they don’t there is no reason to panic. As ever with Crypto it helps to ignore short-term price action and maintain a long-term mindset. SCC also corrected, but managed to keep a similar Bitcoin value of around 2,000 Satoshi. Mining returns have continued to go down as well, affected by the fall in Bitcoin price.

Note: For the daily mining figure I have used the last day we had without power cuts or other issues.

  • User Count: 128,409 +0.47%
  • Pool Value: 592.98 BTC +1.38%
  • Daily BTC Mined: 0.072 BTC -20.00%
  • SCC Price: $1.04 -11.11%
  • SCC Market Cap: $10,340,000 -10.53%
  • Daily Exchange Volume $108,665 -26.72%
  • Alexa Rank 19,096 -800

Not many coins escaped the crash this week, but somehow both Decentraland and Birake made the top 5 again. This is the third consecutive week for Birake. Flits also recovered somewhat after the recent announcement regarding their v5 release.

These were the top 5 gainers for this week:

Top 5 Gainers

  1. POLIS +23.3%
  2. MANA +15.7%
  3. FLS +15.7%
  4. BIR +8.2%
  5. PIVX+7.7%

Meatec Power Outage

Yesterday there was a new power outage that affected our miners for a few hours. The miners are online again, but there were no rewards generated during the downtime.

Meatec AMA Concludes

The AMA has concluded and we have gathered many questions for Meatec from our community. Most of them were related to the recent technical issues that have caused a decrease in mining rewards. Another popular question was regarding the damaged miners that are in need of repairs. Our community managers will now select these questions and send them to Meatec so that they can work on answering them.

Thank you all for participating, as soon as we have the answers we will make them public.

MineCube Information

Mining rewards have continued to fall this week, leading to some frustration on the part of our users. While a lot could be attributed to issues with our provider Meatec, there was definitely influence from mining difficulty and mainly the Bitcoin price crash.

  • 438 users with at least 100% recovered
  • 173 average workers per user
  • Highest recovery rate: 129.6%
  • $2.21 million worth of workers sold

And these are some statistics relevant to the mining of Bitcoin:

  • Hashpower: 159.09m TH/s -4.82%
  • Difficulty: 22.674t +2.11%
  • Bitcoin Price: $54,255 -4.7%
  • StakeCube Hashpower: 1,776.0 TH/s
