General News

StakeCube in Numbers

Optimism has failed to return to the Crypto markets this week, with Bitcoin struggling to maintain the $45,000 support level and reaching lower and lower highs. Most altcoins have also had pretty bad performance, following the general market trend. An interesting exception is Avalanche, which is the latest platform coin to rise to the top 10. StakeCube Coin had a similar performance to the rest of the market, with small loses over the past few days.

This week the big story was the hearing on cryptocurrencies that took place in the US congress. In it, the chief executives of several Crypto platforms discussed the benefits and risks associated with cryptocurrencies before the House Financial Services Committee. There were also rumors coming from the Russian Central bank, saying that they will pursue a ban of investments in cryptocurrency in Russia. Seems like Crypto regulation is once more at the forefront of the debate, with investors uneasy about the uncertainty caused by financial regulators from different countries.

NodeCube Success

Over the last 2 weeks we have noticed a huge increase in masternodes hosted on NodeCube. Since the beginning of December we have already installed 500 new masternodes whereas usually we get around 400 on a typical month.

Due to the increase in demand, our hired VPS were filled faster than normal and some users got an error message asking them to wait a few minutes. The only reason for this is that the increase was unexpected, but we have now increased our VPS availability to face the added demand.

StakeCube Element

We have created a public chat on Element for those in our community that want to use it. Element is an end-to-end encrypted messaging app that allows you to keep control of your data. Join our channel using this link:

15th Dash Node

This week we filled our 15th Shared Dash masternode, which is quite impressive thinking each of them is worth $126,000 at current prices. The 16th masternode is now collecting, so feel free to get some shares if you have some DASH. Keep in mind that DASH is also an interest coin, and therefore you will be earning both interest and masternode rewards. With full SCC masternode bonus, this would place your yearly earnings at around 17%.

MineCube Stats

Meatec had some update to install for their payout system on Monday, but other than that the week was pretty uneventful. Difficulty increases and the falling cryptocurrency prices have once again reduced rewards for miners.

These are some statistics for MineCube as of today:

  • 465 users with at least 100% recovered
  • 173 average workers per user
  • Highest recovery rate: 132.29%
  • $2.24 million worth of workers sold

These are some statistics relevant to the mining of Bitcoin:

  • Hashpower: 173.7m TH/s -3.77%
  • Difficulty: 24.2t +8.35%
  • Bitcoin Price: $45,821 -3.89%
  • StakeCube Hashpower: 1,578.0 TH/s -0.25%

And these are the current number of miners for each coin (including damaged):

  • BTC: 350
  • Dash: 110
  • ETH: 18
  • LTC: 11

Development News

V3 Developlement

Development of the next version of StakeCube continues on track with the final release coming at some point in Q1 2022. Although we commonly refer to this version as v3, it would be more appropriate to call it v4. The next version is not a simple modification of the existing platform or the addition of some features. It is a full redesign of every single aspect of StakeCube, with expertly designed UX, and a completely reformed backend.

Simultaneously, we are in the last stages of formalizing our strategy with different marketing agencies. This process usually takes 3 to 4 weeks to onboard the marketing professionals and an additional 3 to 4 weeks to schedule and prepare the marketing campaign, press releases, ads, etc. Starting early next year we will start disclosing more detailed aspects of v3 in our weekly newsletter.

SCP

We have now started development of a new SCP project, codenamed “SCP Lite” for now. This project will be a browser extension for Chromium-based and Firefox-based browsers consisting of a minified version of the SCP wallet. This extension will have access to DApps and SCP integrations for many websites in the future.

SCP Lite is akin to Metamask in the way it works. It is a light-wallet built into your browser and every supporting web-page. However, users need not worry, transactions cannot be done without authorization. SCP Lite will ask you what permissions you’d like to grant DApps and websites.

We estimate public testing will come around late Q1 2022 or early Q2 2022.

Here’s a preview of the upcoming, in-development UI and extension running in Firefox:
