General News

StakeCube in Numbers

Optimism seems to continue for the Crypto markets, with Bitcoin prices going up daily and finally reaching $45,000 today. This comes on the back of some positive news for the space. The law that the European Parliament was preparing to regulate Crypto has gone through without the provision to ban Proof of Work coins. Meanwhile there are rumors that it will be possible to pay for Russian oil deals with Bitcoin. On the other hand, India has just passed some pretty damaging tax regulation on Crypto that detracts value from every transaction. Seems like after quite a few months of very little activity, things could be heating up again. On StakeCube the listing of SAPP and Firo has contributed to increase our pool value even in the face of decreasing SCC prices. Meanwhile daily exchange volume continues to hold above $100,000. User growth was also strong with another 500 users joining this week.

  • User Count: 138,614 +0.32%
  • Pool Value: 570.91 BTC +0.59%
  • Daily BTC Mined: 0.029 BTC +11.54%
  • SCC Price: $0.46 -11.54%
  • SCC Market Cap: $5,115,000 -6.98%
  • Daily Exchange Volume $108,288 -2.71%
  • Alexa Rank 16,144 -322

Again quite a few listed coins performing well, in particular Flits, with someone buying themselves a good number of masternodes through our exchange. Dash comes as second, which is surely good news for the many holders of masternode shares on StakeCube.

These were the top 5 gainers for this week:

Top 5 Gainers

  1. FLS +43.2%
  2. DASH +28.3%
  3. ONION +23.2%
  4. BCH +21.6%
  5. PIRATE +19.1%
MeaTec AMA

Back in December we hosted through Discord an AMA with MeaTec for our community. We received the answers from the MeaTec team soon after, but asked them to provide further clarification on some of them. In the end we decided to publish the answers as they were provided. Here they are:

Sale of MineCube Workers Suspended

Over the last few months we have had many complaints about the state of MineCube due to the accumulation of “damaged” miners. The number of these has increased drastically causing mining rewards to sink to very low levels. We understand your frustration but unfortunately there isn’t much we can do on our side to address this problem. All we know is the information MeaTec gave us regarding the broken machines. Apparently the S17 models break extremely easily and those constitute the majority of the machines we bought. There are some reports that seem to confirm this information:

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitmain-produced-bad-batch-of-units-ahead-of-bitcoin-halving-miners-claim

Given this situation and to avoid causing more frustration to our users, we have made the decision to suspend the sale of workers until the situation improves. Once StakeCube V3 is released, the availability of several mining farms will make it possible for us to sell workers again, as new farms will only have new machines. In the meantime we will try to secure additional mining providers to improve the reliability of the service. We will keep you informed as soon as there are new developments.

Of course the workers you bought will continue to produce rewards as usual, we are just going to stop selling them for some time.

StakeCube eSports

In cooperation with CryptechCraft, this week we launched Cryptoconomy on their Minecraft server. Cryptoconomy is a plugin that allows for people to earn SCC and other cryptocurrencies while playing videogames. In this case, you will be able to earn Crypto by playing Minecraft on the CryptechCraft network!

We are working on a new updated wiki for the server, but you can already take a look:

 https://wiki.cryptechcraft.xyz/

Cryptoconomy currently supports deposits and withdrawals for MRX and SCC. In later stages we will add other cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum and Bitcoin.

You’ll find all necessary information to join the server on the StakeCube eSports or CryptechsCrafts Discord servers:

NodeCube Collateral After Destroying a Node

We have had some people asking why coins were not immediately credited to their accounts after destroying a NodeCube hot node. Please keep in mind that after destroying a hot node, coins can take 1 to 3 hours to return to your balance. You will see the same information on the hot node page:

Registering SCC Masternodes

Lately we have observed an increase in users registering their SCC masternodes. The most common errors that we have encountered are related to mistakes copying the signature. In particular, many people delete the “=” at the end of the signature, and this does not work. The signature must contain this symbol at the end.

You can use the following guide if you need help registering your masternode:

PRIV and 777 added to NodeCube

We have now added PRIV and 777 to NodeCube. Both Cold Nodes and Hot Nodes are available. These are some stats for these masternodes to help you decide if they are an interesting investment for you:

PRIV Masternode Stats:

  • Collateral: 25,000
  • Collateral Value: $66
  • Yearly ROI: 36.93%
  • Monthly reward value: $2.03
  • Reward frequency: 6 hours

777 Masternode Stats:

  • Collateral: 20,000
  • Collateral Value: $959
  • Yearly ROI: 164.65%
  • Monthly reward value: $132
  • Reward frequency: 3 days

Please keep in mind that these figures fluctuate with coin prices and with the number of masternodes currently maintaining the networks.

SAPP Shared Masternode Open

After listing SAPP last week, we have now activated shared masternodes for it. Since the masternode has a huge collateral, we decided to split masternodes in 5,000 shares of 40 SAPP each. This puts the share price at $26 which should be quite affordable. Remember that coins continue to stake even when in shares of a collecting shared masternode, so feel free to put your SAPP into masternode shares!

You will find shared masternodes here:

https://stakecube.net/app/masternode/

DAPS Maintenance

At the request of the DAPS team we have placed the DAPS wallet into maintenance. An update will follow once we get more information regarding this request.

MineCube Stats

This week mining returns have increased somewhat, thanks to the growing Crypto prices and probably because Bitcoin mining difficulty hasn’t adjusted yet. However, hashpower seems to be once again growing quite fast, which means difficulty will probably continue to go up.

These are some statistics for MineCube as of today:

  • 587 users with at least 100% recovered
  • 169 average workers per user
  • Highest recovery rate: 138.84%
  • $2.30 million worth of workers sold

These are some statistics relevant to the mining of Bitcoin:

  • Hashpower: 206.34m TH/s +7.99%
  • Difficulty: 27.46t -0.47%
  • Bitcoin Price: $44,386 +5.64%

And these are the current number of miners for each coin (including damaged):

  • BTC: 356
  • Dash: 110
  • ETH: 19
  • LTC: 11

SCC Core v3.2.0 is a highly recommended upgrade for users / exchanges / MN hosting services.

Notable changes:

  • A massive improvement lessening resource usage, most notably RAM.
  • Syncing Speed improvements via faster deserialisation.
  • Connectivity and Peer discovery Improvements. (No more addnodes!).
  • Experimental TOR v3 format support.
