General News

StakeCube in Numbers

This week has brought a much needed recovery for the Crypto markets, although perhaps not as big as we had hoped. At least Bitcoin managed to get back above the $20,000 level and seems to be doing well for now, which is particularly good for a Friday. Other Cryptos did grow quite a bit, especially several DeFi tokens such as SNX, MKR and UNI had a great week. Nevertheless the general market sentiment continues to be bearish at the moment, with the Crypto Fear & Greed indicator still reflecting this.

Perhaps the current pessimism has something to do with the dilemma most central banks are facing these days. As inflation continues to rise worldwide, central banks must choose whether to fight it by removing liquidity from the markets, or continue stimulating the economy with accelerated asset buying programs and currency devaluation. Removing liquidity will very likely cause a deep recession, but the alternative is letting inflation run out of control. The Federal reserve seems to have chosen recession, whereas the ECB’s actions against inflation seem a lot more timid. Either way, this is very bad news for the economy, and all markets seem to be reacting to it lately.

On StakeCube we definitely felt the Crypto recovery, with an unusually high number of new registrations this week. SCC price also rose a bit against the dollar, trading now slightly under 20 cents. But most importantly, our Pool Value in BTC experimented a great increase with almost 20 BTC worth of different coins added to our holdings.

MeaTec Miners Poll

Two weeks have passed since we started the poll to consult our community regarding the possible plans for the miners we currently have at MeaTec. We have now received more than 400 votes, most of which also included interesting comments and suggestions. Over the next week we plan to analyze and discuss all of this information internally, with the aim to give you the poll results and our next steps by next Friday.

Crypto-Mining Industry Situation, MeaTec and MineCube

As you probably noticed, this week once again there was no MineCube payment. However in this case it was not due to a delay or a maintenance period but simply because no rewards were generated. The reason for this is that many of the machines seem to have been taken offline or have a “damaged” status. Unfortunately the few that are still running do not cover the combined maintenance costs and this has resulted in a net zero mining revenue this week.

As mining difficulty has increased very significantly over the last year, and Bitcoin prices remain low, it is uncertain how long this situation will continue. If you hold MineCube workers, we encourage you to vote on the poll we sent you by e-mail, to decide what our next steps should be.

Dash Shared Masternodes

Our DASH holdings keep growing very rapidly, allowing us to start our 21st DASH masternode this week. The 22nd masternode is now collecting. If you have some DASH and want to reserve some slots, you can find it here:

https://stakecube.net/app/masternode/

DASHD Masternode Collateral Change

Monday the 27th, DASHD will once again change the collateral of their masternodes, increasing it from 10,000 to 15,000. Once the change is effective, masternode owners will need to destroy their NodeCube Hot Nodes and redeploy them with the increased collateral in order to continue receiving rewards. NodeCube Cold Nodes will need to have the collateral updated on the wallet side.

Ticket System

Once again we want to remind you to write in full detail the issue you’re encountering before submitting a support ticket. Also please include other data such as your username, email, your i.p. address and screenshots of the error encountered. We keep receiving tickets with no information in them at all, or even completely blank.

Moreover, we have observed a very significant increase in tickets that are disrespectful towards our staff. We want to point out that this kind of ticket will no longer receive an answer. While we understand that the current market situation can be frustrating for some users, we bear no responsibility over it and cannot tolerate such behaviors. We are happy to offer you support with any issue you are encountering, sometimes even answering general questions not directly related to StakeCube. All we ask in return is that you are polite in your interactions with our agents.

London Whale Event

As we announced a few weeks ago, StakeCube will be participating in a Crypto event called London Whale. The event will take place in London on the 4th and 5th of July and will gather several Crypto projects. Some of them will probably be familiar to you, such as DogeCash, one of our most popular listed coins! So if you’re going to be in the UK on those dates, feel free to come say hello! At London Whale you’ll have the chance to chat with our CEO and meet several members of the StakeCube development team.

This is a map of the venue showing the location of our stand:
