This Week on StakeCube, 15th of April 2022

General News

StakeCube in Numbers

First of all, the StakeCube team wants to wish a very happy Easter to all of you that celebrate it!

Unfortunately the Crypto markets were not too cheerful this week, as last week’s price correction seems to have continued. Bitcoin broke below the $40,000 level briefly on Wednesday and now seems to be struggling to stay above. This has placed the Crypto Fear and Greed Index deep into “Extreme Fear”:

https://alternative.me/crypto/fear-and-greed-index/

Generally this is taken as a bottom signal, but of course these things are far from infallible. One thing we should say however is that there don’t seem to be any significant bad news lately that would justify the start of a bearish trend. Ethereum’s Merge got postponed to after the Summer, but price action suggests that markets had discounted that one already. SCC remained stable, with strong buy walls appearing yesterday on the exchange. Once again, daily exchange volume remains above $100,000, aided by the success of DASHD, that has somehow turned into the second most popular coin on the exchange.

  • User Count: 139,762 +0.36%
  • Pool Value: 584.24 BTC +2.22%
  • Daily BTC Mined: 0.025 BTC -7.41%
  • SCC Price: $0.41 -4.65%
  • SCC Market Cap: $4,387,000 -3.22%
  • Daily Exchange Volume $110,320 +3.28%
  • Alexa Rank 18,801 -630

Not many good performers this week among listed coins, with only DASHD and TUP standing out. DASHD’s huge growth might be related to the announcement of their latest wallet release and their future plans for the coin. In particular, they announced a masternode collateral increase schedule, and the addition of a tiered system in the future.

These were the top 5 gainers for this week:

Top 5 Gainers

  1. DASHD +55.1%
  2. TUP +9.5%
  3. SHARD +2.1%
  4. DIVI +1.9%
  5. BCH +0.8%
Coin Listing Surveys

As we announced a few weeks ago, we have started listing a few new coins, and have plans to greatly increase our listing efforts once StakeCube Version 3 is running. To guide us in the effort to find the most relevant coins for our users, we would like you to fill out the following questionnaire:

https://www.cognitoforms.com/SC92/SurveyAsABasisForFutureListings

We ask you about the top 3 coins that you hold, but you can also reply with fewer (or none) if you don’t hold 3 different unlisted coins in any of the categories.

Results of the questionnaire are anonymous and responses will not be made public other than perhaps stating which coins were most popular. Please keep in mind that we are not going to automatically list these coins; our team will study the quality and future prospects of these projects to determine which ones will go through.

NodeCube and Shared Masternode Additions

We opened shared masternodes for 777, PNY and DASHD this week, which were filled incredibly rapidly. In the coming weeks we will open some more, but it will probably not be enough to face such huge demand until we implement the Earn system for these coins.

However, DASHD was added to NodeCube this week as well, and with that all 3 coins are available to host both hot nodes and cold nodes. If you want to host a full node with us, just go here:

https://stakecube.net/app/nodecube/

The collateral for these masternodes are:

  • 777: 20,000 coins, worth $833
  • DASHD: 10,000 coins, worth $8,160
  • PNY: 100,000, worth $26,964
FLS Maintenance

The FLS wallet was in maintenance for a few days due to wallet issues. After completely re-building the cold wallet.dat from scratch, the wallet managed to remain stable, not crashing seconds after loading as it did before. This allowed us to take FLS out of maintenance on Tuesday. As part of the rebuild, all FLS masternodes required new collateral addresses and the re-sending of new collaterals. Because of this, please be aware that masternodes will all have new addresses and rewards will be slightly delayed.

New Discord Scammer Raids

This week we have been hit by a series of bot raids from a Giveaway scam. We want to thank our users for quickly reporting them to us, which allowed us to act quickly. However, even though we ban all of these accounts, the DMs  they send still arrive to our users. Therefore it is important that you have some knowledge on how to defend yourself from Crypto scams. Please check out our Security Notice at the end of the newsletter for some information on the topic.

KTS Online and Added to NodeCube

This week the Klimatas team released a new wallet and we were able to finally take it out of maintenance. We have now also added KTS to NodeCube, for those of you that want to host a hot or cold node with us. Once again, you will find it here:

https://stakecube.net/app/nodecube/

DASHD Maintenance

Last Wednesday the 13th of April, the DASHD/Decenomy team stopped the blockchain on block 900,537 and announced the release of a new wallet. Because of this, the DASHD wallet is currently in maintenance, and no rewards are being generated:

This was their announcement:

We will take the wallet out of maintenance once the DASHD team releases a new wallet.

BLTG Progress

Early this week, the BLTG blockchain started moving again and we were able to take the wallet out of maintenance. However, this didn’t last long, as the explorer got stuck again yesterday forcing us to place the wallet back into maintenance. Once again, the wallet will be offline until the blockchain explorer is working.

BNB & BEP20 Maintenance

Starting Monday the 18th of April and for about 48 hours, we will be performing a scheduled maintenance on the BNB and BEP20 token wallets. Deposits made during this time will not be credited automatically, and withdrawals will not be possible.

Wallets in Maintenance Update:

This is an update on the status of the different wallets that are in maintenance at the moment:

  • DAPS – Continued issues syncing the wallet.
  • DASHD – Coin team has stopped the chain, we are waiting for the release of a new wallet.
  • HCC – Explorer is stuck.
  • LUX – Explorer issues.
  • TUP – No fix has been released for the masternode issue yet.
  • ULG – Wallet crashing and sticking when staking is enabled.
StakeCube eSports

Starting last week, we will be organizing weekly Axie Infinity tournaments on the Community Gaming platform. We are very satisfied with how well things run with them, and from next week we will expand the tournaments to 32 players. Our goal is to increase this again in the future, to at some point have 64 players participating in our Axie tournaments every Thursday.

We also started to look more into Thetan Arena, and hope to arrange our first tournament of this game in a couple of weeks. We intend to arrange weekly tournaments for this game as well. Thetan Arena is an eSports game based on blockchain technology. You can gather your friends to form a team, battle with others and earn some money just by using your skills and good teamwork. It offers a great variety of game modes, including: MOBA & Battle Royale. The game is rather popular, having now over 23 million players.

We are looking for content creators for Thetan Arena. If you are interested, just fill out this form and we will reach out to you:

Also, if you know someone that could be interested, feel free to share the form with them.

MineCube Stats

Mining rewards continued to fall this week, mostly due to the general fall in Crypto prices. Bitcoin mining difficulty also contributed slightly to the decrease, as it rose by a small percentage. However, hashpower seems to be falling now, and this should cause mining difficulty to correct soon.

These are some statistics for MineCube as of today:

  • 609 users with at least 100% recovered
  • 169 average workers per user
  • Highest recovery rate: 139.83%
  • $2.30 million worth of workers sold

These are some statistics relevant to the mining of Bitcoin:

  • Hashpower: 202.00m TH/s -0.96%
  • Difficulty: 28.59t +0.14%
  • Bitcoin Price: $40,415 -7.32%

And these are the current number of miners for each coin (including damaged):

  • BTC: 355
  • Dash: 110
  • ETH: 18
  • LTC: 11

Development News

SCP Wallet

The first stable test-release of the latest SCP Wallet has been launched! Users of both Windows and Linux are welcome to the SCP Discord to download and try-out the upgrade, suggestions and bug reports are welcome as per usual:

https://discord.gg/XR8krnT2Pz

Users that report their experience and bugs (if any) are likely to receive tips for their help in improving v1.1.8; our upcoming release.

In terms of development: this week’s editions have made onboarding new users an extremely easy process by removing the necessity of purchasing SCC to use SCP. Anybody with a PC can now jump straight into NFTs, Tokens and DApps in the SCP Ecosystem!

Here’s a couple of the week’s changes:

  • A one-time, entry-level faucet for users of SCP that do not own any SCC.
  • A multitude of UX fixes.
  • Improved Windows Desktop integration.
Requested Features

These are the 3 selected features from the #feature-request channel this week:

  • Recurring gifts/airdrops of either a fixed amount or a percentage of your earnings, on a custom interval, daily, weekly, monthly.
  • Latest news window, where users can read about planned listings/delistings/maintenance/collateral upgrades, etc.
  • USD value that pops up on exchange before posting a buy or sell.

We will study the viability of these requested features and see whether it makes sense to implement them into StakeCube Version 3.
