General News

Crypto Markets Update

After a pretty bad beginning of the week, the Crypto markets finally rallied on Friday, with Bitcoin again trading well above the $20,000 level. Many are now saying that last week’s poor performance was nothing but a bear trap, and that perhaps the bottom is finally in. However it wasn’t just the Crypto markets that did well, but all risk assets in general. The most likely reason for this change is next week’s release of monthly CPI data in the US. Markets are expecting that the CPI figure will reflect a slowdown or even a correction of inflation, making it unnecessary for the Fed to take further action.

Nevertheless, central banks have continued to state their intention to bring inflation back to normal levels. It could be that even in the case of slowing inflation, the Fed still decides to hike interest rates to speed up the process. After all, the current official US inflation figure of around 9% is well above the 2% target. But the CPI data release is not the only event planned for next week, as the Ethereum merge is also scheduled to happen most likely between Tuesday and Wednesday. As these events unfold, we can expect great volatility in the markets next week.

StakeCube in Numbers

StakeCube had a good week, with SCC showing very strong growth. Part of it can be explained by the general market trend, but it should be said that SCC also gained value with respect to BTC, as it is now trading well above 1,300 Satoshi. User count had stronger than usual growth as well, with almost 500 new registrations this week.

  • User Count: 147,852 +0.25%
  • Pool Value: 649.16 BTC -0.16%
  • SCC Price: $0.283 +15.51%
  • SCC Market Cap: $3,061,000 +15.21%
  • Daily Exchange Volume $26,359 -29.46%
  • Daily SCP Transactions: 19 -20.83%
Top 5 Gainers

RVN tops the list this week, with a huge growth of close to 80%. One possible reason for this could be the expectation that many Ethereum miners will move to the Ravencoin blockchain. At least the RVN team has expressed that much:

SCC also made the list, reaching the top 4!

  1. RVN +78.6
  2. FIRO +27.0
  3. RDD +18.9%
  4. SCC +15.5%
  5. NEBL +15.3%
New Earn System Coins

This week we have added PIVX, SYS and SAPP to the Earn system. Now only Dash and SCC remain to be added to complete the process before the StakeCube V3 release.

For those of you that don’t know yet, the Earn system is a way of combining staking and masternode rewards in order to maximize earnings for the user. Our team members carefully study the profitability of staking and masternodes in order to balance the number of coins contained in our staking and masternode wallets. All rewards generated by these wallets are then credited daily to the user proportionally to their balance. This improves earnings for the user, eliminates the need to reserve shared masternode slots, and greatly simplifies reporting.

In order to receive Earn rewards, you need to hold a minimum balance of the respective coins. These are the minimums for all coins currently in the Earn system:

  • 777: 1
  • AEM: 100
  • ALIAS: 10

XP Volume Spike

This week the XP/SCC trading pair experienced an unusual explosion in activity, reaching 10,000 SCC daily volume on Thursday and a price of 153,637 Olegtoshis. This price is almost 15 times higher than the price XP had a week ago. However, it seems that since Thursday things have calmed down once again and the price is trading at similar levels to last week.

Moonerradar Support for StakeCube

Moonerradar is a Crypto analytics website, mostly focused on the German public. Now they have announced the implementation of a new feature: tracking of staking, lending, interest and masternode rewards:

As it seems, they support StakeCube data, so feel free to take a look at their website:

MeaTec Downtime

MeaTec had another downtime of 37 hours this week. The explanation they gave was once again maintenance work at the power plant. This was the official communication:

New Dash Shared Masternode Filled

This week we filled and installed our 23rd Dash shared masternode. Seems like now we are filling a new one approximately every two weeks.  With the newest one, we already have more than $1,120,000 worth of Dash in masternode collaterals, generating close to 160 Dash monthly!

Development News

SCP Wallet v1.1.9

Today we released a new minor upgrade for SCP Wallet! This release brings with it a well-desired feature: multi-accounts. With multi-accounts, you can now generate and use unlimited SCP accounts within a single wallet! This upgrade also allows the GUI wallet to access headless wallets due to the addition of unencrypted key support. SCP node operators can easily switch between GUI / CLI with no loss of control over the wallet system!

Outside of these useful features, are a handful of performance improvements for a snappy, responsive dashboard, improved staking, and fixed cross-platform features such as the wallet export button.
