General News

StakeCube in Numbers

The week was going pretty well for the Crypto markets up until Friday, when once again Bitcoin lost the $40,000 level. It is becoming some sort of tradition to have markets crash on Friday after a relatively sideways week. As it stands right now, price levels are more or less the same as last Friday. Nevertheless all of this uncertainty is not at all contained to Crypto. Most markets are having pretty bad performances these days due to the general political and economic situation we are in. Investors look for safe places to put their money, and cryptocurrencies are considered a risk asset due to their high volatility. However, as inflation continues to grow, Bitcoin’s role as an inflation hedge should finally kick in and change the tide.

As for StakeCube, we had pretty high exchange volume this week, with the DASHD/BTC pair being particularly popular. Unfortunately Coingecko does not have us listed as a market for DASHD, and because of that exchange volume figures are unreliable. Our pool value has also grown quite a bit thanks to all the DASHD deposits we are receiving lately.

  • User Count: 140,276 +0.37%
  • Pool Value: 590.08 BTC +1.00%
  • Daily BTC Mined: 0.025 BTC 0%
  • SCC Price: $0.39 -4.88%
  • SCC Market Cap: $4,052,000 -7.64%
  • Daily Exchange Volume $97,274 -11.83%
  • Alexa Rank 18,726 +75

A few coins performed really well this week, including DogeCash, the Proof of Stake and Masternodes dog coin!

These were the top 5 gainers for this week:

  1. DOGEC +30.6%
  2. KMD +21.0%

Alebrijes SCP Collection

The NFT marketplace has experienced a new explosion of activity thanks to the release of the Alebrijes NFT collection:

https://scpscan.net/nfts.html?id=5dd1ed1645617bb64f6a95087aa4917f8e1b6606d736f5d0ef5f1a1791707a09&theme=light&display=portrait

This collection alone managed to reach a volume of almost 1,500 SCC, bringing back to the marketplace lots of buyers for many other collections as well. If the release of just one NFT collection can have such an effect on the activity of SCP, imagine where SCC will be once the general public discovers how easy and affordable SCP NFTs are.

ULG Staking Disabled

Although ULG staking has been disabled for the moment, the wallet is out of maintenance and allows to deposit and withdraw coins. We are now working with the ULG team to resolve some remaining issues with the wallet. According to their last communication, they will be releasing soon a new wallet version that should hopefully fix all problems and allow us to re-enable staking as well.

Wallet Maintenance Update

This is a summary of the status of all wallets in maintenance:

  • HCC: Explorer still stuck.
  • DAPS: Wallets still unable to connect or sync.
  • LUX: Explorer/sync issues.
  • TUP: No fix for the masternode issue has been released yet.
Migration to Earn System

To optimize the production and distribution of POS and MN rewards, the process of migrating coins to the EARN system will start again next week. As we announced last year, the Earn system combines Proof of Stake and Masternode rewards, paying daily earnings to coin holders without requiring any action on their part. StakeCube maintains some coins staking and some in masternodes, crediting the rewards they generate to all coin holders on a daily basis. Thanks to that, users don’t need to reserve masternode shares and can simply start earning after depositing. This system significantly simplifies transaction reporting for the user, and also allows us to optimize the amounts put into staking and masternodes in order to maximize the rewards. You can see an example of this at work in ZNZ, that was moved to the Earn system about a year ago.

The next coins we will to move to the Earn system are FLS, KYDC and CTSC. Once we move them, coins in shared masternodes will be credited back to the users. Only the shares will be deleted; the masternodes will continue to exist and contribute with their rewards to the Earn system. Distribution of split PoS and masternode rewards for these coins will stop on Sunday the 24th, and the 25th users will receive the first combined reward. Over the following weeks, we will be moving more coins to the Earn system. We will keep you updated on our plans for it and progress through this newsletter.

StakeCube eSports

Yesterday we hosted our third Axie Thursday, this time increasing the number of players to 32. Big thanks to everyone that joined our event, motivating us to keep going.

Next week we will expand our game roster with Thetan Arena: https://twitter.com/thetanarena

We will begin with a small test event with just 4 teams participating. After this, we will decide if we need to change anything about the rules or the organization. Once everything is set will we quickly increase the number of teams on the Thetan Arena events and arrange weekly tournaments just like we do for Axie Infinity.

If you are interested in gaming or eSports then come join our eSports Discord server:

SCP Wallet

v1.1.8 is in the process of being released for the first time on ALL major platforms! Linux, MacOS and Windows will all enjoy a wallet with a new coating of paint.

All features are now considered stable in the latest source, including some new additions since the public test release, listed below:

  • NFTs that have been publicly traded via the StakeCube Marketplace now have their exchange value listed within their Details page, including All Time High (ATH) and All Time Low (ATL), this system could help traders to quickly gauge historical values of their NFTs and potentially trade in profit!
  • A ‘Clear’ button has been added to the NFT creator, which helps NFT creators to prevent accidentally double-minting, or minting the wrong Image / Title, no more restarting SCP Wallet just to refresh the editor!
Requested Features

These are this week’s selected features from the #feature-request channel:

  • A philanthropy page that allows to donate funds to charity
  • Ability to set any coin listed in Stakecube as payout in Minecube
  • Display all balances in wallets overview page (available, locked in orders, locked in masternode).

We will study their viability and decide whether to implement them in StakeCube V3.

BNB/BEP20
Previous version: 1.1.8
New version: 1.1.9
