StakeCube in Numbers
This week saw some growth in pool value prompted by a few big deposits, while the rest of the indicators didn’t move much in any direction. No surprises there, as the markets continue their sideways trend. In particular our DASH pool grew quite substantially, which allowed us to re-activate one of the collecting masternodes and fill shares of many others. If you have shares in a collecting DASH masternode, check that it is the first one from the list. If this is not the case, it could be good to cancel the shares and reserve them again. We do have enough coins to start a new masternode, but the DASH is currently spread out among several different collecting ones.

StakeCube’s Birthday
On the 13th of June it was the 3rd anniversary since we opened StakeCube back in 2018. We are becoming a veteran Crypto platform, surviving more than most others. These years have truly been a rollercoaster, including the entirety of the 2018 and 2019 Crypto winter. It is a good moment to reflect and realise how far we have come, since the foundation of the platform as a staking pool, to the all-encompassing platform it is today. From the buggy PIVX forks as codebase for SCC to the new chain capable of running smart contracts with SCP.
Only one year ago we had just started MineCube, managing to fill our first DASH masternode. Seeing where we were then and where we are now, imagine where we’ll be one year from now. We have a lot to look forward to.
New Trivia Format and Schedule
Since our trivia competitions have seen an uptick in activity, we decided to increase the number of them we hold. Previously these contests were taking place on Saturdays, whereas from now on also Tuesdays and Thursdays will have a trivia contest. However Tuesday and Thursday the trivia will have a different format, with 3 blocks of 10 questions every hour starting at 18:00. Saturday trivia will maintain its structure of 25 questions starting at 20:00. Only the Saturday trivia will count for the monthly competition. All times are given in server time (UTC).
The prize structure will be:
- Tuesdays and Thursdays
– Normal trivia questions (bot questions) – 0.05 SCC
– Special trivia questions (Crypto related/SC/ SCC related /other special events) – 0.25 SCC - Saturdays
– Normal trivia questions (bot questions) – 0.1 SCC
– Special trivia questions (Crypto related/SC/ SCC related /other special events) – 0.5 SCC
Monthly prizes are awarded to those accumulating the most correct answers on Saturday trivia competitions. In case of a tie for one specific position, the prize will be divided by the number of users and rounded up. For instance, if two users tie for second place, each will receive a prize of 5 SCC.
- Monthly prizes
-1st place – 15 SCC
-2nd place – 9 SCC
-3rd place – 6 SCC
Seeking New SCC Listings
Some users have expressed concern about the lack of other exchanges to trade SCC other than StakeCube exchange. We listened to you and are preparing the necessary documentation to apply for some new listings. As we mentioned in previous editions of This Week on StakeCube we are working on the whitepaper and plan to have it ready by the end of the month. This is a key step in applying for listings, and we hope to see more progress on this front after it is complete.
E-Sports League Open

Development News
Version 3 Update
We understand that for an outsider it might seem like development of version 3 has slowed down, however work has continued uninterrupted. As you know, we want version 3 to drastically improve usability, security and robustness using the experience and user input we have gathered over the last 3 years. Because this release will be a full system revamp, it is impossible for us to show progress piece by piece. We released the new version of MineCube and the Exchange because we were able to make them compatible with the old system. However for all other aspects of version 3 it makes more sense to release them together.
Everything is being redesigned with help from professional UX designers, product managers, developers and administrators. Although we cannot show the new features, we can show you some screenshots to illustrate how the planning and development process is going. Take a look at these examples:
StakeCube Protocol News
This week we have done some work to improve wallet startup time, managing to achieve noticeably faster bootups. MacOS support has been improved as well, with icons now displaying correctly on modern Mac Systems.
We have also revamped and refactored the entire wallet backend system. The full-node wallet API is almost complete, with a whole new multi-wallet setup for unlimited wallets. It includes balance tracking for SCC and SCP tokens, and layer-1 UTXO management with automatic coin control.
A community developer has assisted with UI and UX improvements. Specifically adding mobile-screen compatibility, improving features on most visual pages and generally optimizing the UX across the board.
BotCube Developments
BotCube has some new features designed to help with the trivia contests, making the game more fun and fair. For the sake of fairness trivia options cannot be copied anymore. They must be typed manually, with copied answers being ignored by the bot. Additionally, difficulty can now be adjusted by the host with a second parameter:
!triviadrop 1 easy
There is a new “options” display, that looks better on most devices. However some mobile phones still do not show them correctly due to a Discord issue that they are currently investigating.
StakeCube In-House Blockchain Explorers
Due to the unreliability of blockchain explorers used by some of the listed coins, StakeCube has begun development of our own explorers for those coins. A reliable explorer is important to check deposits, withdrawals, stakes, masternodes, etc. This should prevent waiting times caused by malfunctions that forced us until now to wait for a third party to fix them.
The first explorer we set up is for Rapids. It seems to be running well, and we are using it already to verify that everything continues to run smoothly.
ETH/ERC 20 and BSC/BEP20 withdrawal improvements
We have implemented some minor improvements for withdrawals of ERC20 and BEP20 tokens. They are now faster on average, with additional checks to confirm that the address is valid. This prevents transactions going to old chains or other networks.
Please keep in mind that although we implement these checks to prevent unfortunate situations caused by user mistakes, it is still the user’s responsibility to verify the address and blockchain before requesting a withdrawal. If the user inputs incorrect information, it is still perfectly possible that this results in loss of funds.
