StakeCubeCoin – Swap summary

Welcome to a short SCC chain swap summary.

First of all I would like to thank all users, services and also the team for the all the cooperation and support once again.

We saw an initial startup issue with v3.0.0; which did not use the right chain parameter responsible for PoW difficulty adjustment and had to be fixed, releasing then v3.0.1 shortly after. This was not critical to the process and does not negatively affect the current chain.

Other than this, the swap has been very successful from a technical standpoint; the new chain is showing to be stable and secure. The new wallet, masternodes and mining pools are doing very well.

The first days after release were quite support-intensive due to the new/different masternode processes (DIP3) but all users adapted very quickly. Nevertheless we ask all less experienced users to read and use the provided instructions and follow the corresponding guidelines carefully; not to miss any steps. Those who don’t follow these specific steps will encounter different errors on protx or banned nodes. The DASH codebase will not accept any malformed or unstable MNs in order to guarantee a secure network.

Almost in parallel to all this, we backported new DASH & BTC commits that were released after the launch of our blockchain and will continue to do so on a regular basis, making SCC always up to date.

The last thing we discovered during the monitoring process is a deactivated payee validation that is usually linked to “superblocks” which are not used by SCC. There are one (or more) mining pools that were creating blocks without a check for the right payee and/or producing splitted coinbase transactions by inserting their fees. This is also already fixed, the validation starts with block 10,000 and prevents blocks like this from being accepted by the chain. Therefore we ask every mining pool to update to v3.0.2 and recommend every user to do it as well; please see the update guide here.

We expect the next releases to come more slowly but to be more extensive, following the DASH/BTC update cycles.

Last but not least we would like to share exact movements of coins that have been swapped.
