StakeCube in Numbers
As Bitcoin has continued the sideways trend, we haven’t seen much movement for SCC either. Daily BTC mining has experienced a very significant increase thanks to the 16% fall in mining difficulty. Provided Bitcoin finds a bottom here and doesn’t fall further we should see further increases in mining revenue, as difficulty is expected to fall even lower a week from now. These difficulty reductions might have something to do with the hashpower migration out of China, following the most recent government crackdown. User count also saw stronger growth this week than last week.
- User Count: 94,213 +1.37%
- Pool Value: 628 BTC +2.95%
- Daily BTC Mined: 0.095 BTC +17.28%
- SCC Price: $1.13 -2.59%
- SCC Market Cap: $10,048,000 -2.16%
- Alexa Rank 12236 -265
Monthly Coin Vote Winner
The winner of May’s community coin vote was GoByte (GBX). The wallet is already installed, with complete listing expected before the end of the week. Additionally, the GoByte team has been kind enough to donate coins for a GBX faucet, which will be active soon after listing
New BotCube Features
We have added a new auto-trivia feature to BotCube. This new feature randomly selects trivia questions and pays the SCC prize to the user with the first correct answer. The trivia function has been developed to be search-engine-proof, which makes for a much fairer trivia experience.
The bot has also been equipped with improved radio features. It will play music on Discord by song name, author, Youtube URL and other options. We have also improved the UX and the information the bot displays.
MineCube Miners Mislabeled
A few miners had the wrong label on the miner list for MineCube. After detecting this problem we fixed the wrong labels so that they accurately match our machines running at the Meatec facilities. Number of workers and worker costs were not affected, only the names were mistaken.
You can see the miner list here:
https://stakecube.net/app/minecube/miners
Some users may not be able to see the list because of their adblock add-ons. Deactivating adblock for this page will fix the issue. It is unclear why this happens, as we have no ads on this page.
Development News
StakeCube Protocol News
We committed the final UX and protocol adjustments prior to the launch date of SCP and SCP wallet. Community testers helped stress-test systems and token deployment during the last days of testnet.
The mainnet protocol went live as planned at 00:00:00 GMT last 3rd of June. As was previously announced, we deleted all existing testnet tokens created until that point to provide a clean slate for the mainnet. Next day, we released the first SCP client, SCP wallet v1.1.3 codenamed “Genesis”. The launch was a big success with hundreds of downloads in just a few hours.
At the time of writing 4 tokens have been launched. We are collecting community feedback during this stage to further improve the SCP wallet over the coming weeks. Please do not hesitate to contact us on Discord if you have suggestions or need help.
Yesterday we published a more detailed overview of SCP, detailing what our plans for it are. You can check it out here:

SCC Webminer
Last week we increased the XMRig proxy difficulty to 200,000 because some users with strong hash rates had started mining. Now we have increased it further to 300,000 and will continue to monitor to see if this is enough. In the future we would like to avoid these manual adjustments, and we are testing a solution so that we don’t need to keep making them as we grow.
For the moment the fix seems to work well. Difficulty starts high without being locked to a specific number, which prevents share-bombing from becoming an issue. This should also keep our reported hashrate a little bit more stable, which is a welcome development given how chaotic it was before.
Firefox Upgrade Causing Login Issues
Some users reported login problems after updating Firefox to the latest version (v89). The issue does not affect all Firefox users, as it seems to depend on some specific configurations. However for the moment we have observed that incognito mode seems to prevent them. While we investigate and find a better solution we recommend that you use incognito mode if you’re experiencing login issues with Firefox.
WebMiner Bug Fixed
A small glitch was making the webminer display the wrong value under “Active Miners”. This glitch has been fixed and shouldn’t cause any more problems.
NodeCube Improvements
This week we tested and implemented some backend upgrades to the NodeCube system. These upgrades include more auto checks and repairs on the VPS side. With these upgrades in place, we expect a faster problem detection and resolution.
Additionally, following the Monk swap we have adjusted the system so that it can accommodate collateral changes. From now on after a collateral change, NodeCube will add to the list a new ticker for the new collateral. This will be active for Monk next week, as deployment of new masternodes isn’t active yet.
Wallet Maintenance News
Monk Swap
We have successfully completed the Monk Swap, and wallets are again open for deposit and withdrawal. The swap didn’t alter the coin supply, but new wallet addresses were generated. Please don’t send coins to your old address, as this will result in loss of funds.
Masternode collateral and ports have changed, therefore all existing masternodes are no longer valid. If you had a Monk masternode on NodeCube you will have to destroy it to get back the 2000 coins used for the collateral. We also discontinued Monk shared masternodes, as we will implement the earn pool soon. The deployment of new NodeCube masternodes will be possible next week, starting on the 7th of June. Please note that the new collateral for a masternode is 4000 coins.
PRIV Wallet in Maintenance
We have placed the PRiVCY wallet in maintenance at the request of the PRiVCY team. Please contact their team through the official channels and social media to obtain more information regarding this request.
Coin Wallet Updates
As we commented last week, the RPD wallet experiences some problems that make it constantly crash and require a restart. Last week we were forced to downgrade the hot wallet to the previous version (4.0.4.0) because of this, and this week we had to also downgrade the cold wallet. We are still waiting for the Rapids team to release a fix for these issues.
